Day 38

This morning I ran into two problems of my own making within the first 10 minutes of the day. The first was that my running vest was soaking wet and I didn’t want to wear a sodden vest.
The next is that I had forgotten to charge my headphones overnight and they were very low on charge.
I grabbed my big bottle and crossed my fingers and headed out.
This was to be run one of week five for the couch to 5K program.
The first day is supposed to be 3x5 min runs the next is 2x 8 min runs and the last is a 20 min run.
A big week!
My headphones died somewhere in the first 5 minutes set.
Ha
I jogged for about 3/4 of a mile then walked and ran semi randomly for the rest.
As you can see from the metric above I did a new route.
I was staring to finish way too early so had predetermined that after a month of jogging my walking route I’d move on to a larger circuit.
Today I made the jump.
It took me back up to 40is minutes of workout and got me on a trail I’ve never tried before.
It also introduced the BIG HILL.
I can barely walk up this hill without stopping.
Woof!
This week is the beginning of the women’s distance festival 5k training program that I’m doing with my daughter so Wednesday I won’t run in the morning.
Instead we will do a hot evening run. I think they start with run 2 min walk 2 min.
I wasn’t sure what I would do with my couch to 5K while the other 5K training program was going on.
I think I’m going to just keep doing it once a week
I can surely feel my heel and knee this morning so I don’t want to push it more than that.

A fairly productive day and a fun experiment with dinner left me feeling tired.
I managed the P90 but it was hard going.
I read about frying and oil treatment and temperature and drank about 76 oz of water.
My heel hurts. I need to take better care of it tomorrow.

Day 73

Day 73 saw me chasing a spotted fawn down this path.  The poor thing couldn’t quite put together that I wouldn’t follow it if it got off the...
